Procharged GT goes down :)

Ok, so maybe it wasn't a fair fight, but that's not my fault :p I was out Sat night looking for a lil action, truck's been out of commision for five months, had to see what she could do with the new setup. I find a 99+ Mustang GT and an 80's Camaro lined up at the light, so I pull over to the right hand lane. Light goes green, I floor it, DR's spin once or twice and then hook and I'm off. I let off at around 90-95, having multiple lengths on the GT and can't even see the Camaro. Come to find out the GT is Procharged, 380rwhp, ran 12.8@111 on street tires. Might be a closer race on some stickies, but he didn't have a chance on street tires. Prochargers own street tires. My friends procharged '01 just barely broke into 12s on the stock 245s. haha.

So what plans do you have next for the ole truck?


Edit: Damp while were on the subject of what's next, what else you got planned to do besides the s/c? Cause it looks like you're gonna need a few thousand dollars more worth of mods to get into 11's.

You know, this thread has nothing to do with Damp's project.
He is going to have much more sticky tire back there than this guy probably did.
The only thing that gets me is the trap speed. 111 seems slow for the power. Not way off, but maybe a couple MPH low.

I know what this thread's for, and i made my query to the originator about his vehicle. I would however, like to kill two birds with one stone with damp and ask both of them those questions. Not to be a dick, but because i'm always curious, that's just me.

Good kill, and Dampachi, don't feel soo bad if your car runs 12's. The only thing that kicks everyone here is your belief in your car shedding off more then 2 sec. 1/4 mile wise.

Thanks guys, sorry, I was offline for a few days. Got a few more plans for the truck, short term, gonna open up a few kinks in the exhaust and ditch the crappy lil K&N that Paxton supplies with their setup, got a 9" S&B that's gonna go on there, gonna have to trim the inner fender a bit to get it to fit tho. Sometime this year, probably late summer/fall I'm going to do a PI converter, at least 3600, maybe 4K, have to see what the dyno looks like with the new setup. Still haven't had it to the track with the new setup yet, I want to get my a/f smoothed out before I spend money to race. Running really rich down low (10.0-10.5), then leaning out on the shift (12.5). Once I have that smoothed out, I'll get some new track times and dyno #'s.

Oh, and as far as his "claimed" numbers, that's just what he told me. All I can verify is that it was a 99+ GT, and it was Procharged, past that who knows.

just a quick thing about that guys' claim. He lied about 1 of 2 things...he either lied about his RWHP, or he lied about his trap speed. Mine puts down just over 350rwhp and traps 110mph every.....single....pass. Now, 380rwhp would get him 112-114. Keep in mind, mine traps 110 on street tires. So if he DOES in fact trap 111 (which i think is the truth with the procharger) then that's fine. but i am positive that he doesn't have no 380 at the wheels. no way. well, unless he doesn't know how to drive. heh. sorry i kinda got off topic, and i'm not calling BS in any way on your kill. Its a legit kill i'm just sayin' that dude lied about either his power output, or his trap. But considering he had an ATI on there, i think he lied about his rwhp.

yes that is true, i always forget about the weight...i can't remember exactly how much a Fox4 chassis vs. a Foxbody chassis weighs. It's only a couple of hundred pounds. With 380 he'd still be trapping over 112 though. unless the fox4 weighs more than i thought.
