I have 2K Accord manual and I decided to test my alarm yesterday. I sat in the car, locked it (with the remote) waited it for it to arm, then manually pulled up the lock. The Horn blared and the lights flashed as supposed, but when I started the car with the key, it started. I thought when the alarm is triggered, the starting system should be disengaged.
The only explanation I can think of is that I used the original key to start the car. That may have disabled the alarm and allowed the car to start. Am I correct?

I don't believe factory alarms have ignition kill switches. Assumed someone who tries to steel the car doesn't have the original key the imobilizer takes care of the starting problem if the alarm doesn't deter them.

Thanks. That makes pretty good sense
