Car Overheating

Hi,
I own a ’90 Integra LS. A few weeks ago the car began to over heat when the A/C was off. I read the mechanical books (Chilton’s and Haynes) and I started verifying the Radiator and Condensator fan. Both fan turned when the A/C was turned on. I then found that a Relay was damaged and I replaced it but still I could not make the fan to turn when the car started to over heat. I also changed the thermostat and still could not make them turn. I then replaced the Coolant temperature switch and I worked fine for a few weeks.
Then all of the sudden the car began to overheat again. The weird thing is that when the car was overheated and I turn the car off both fan started turning. I had to use the AC always to prevent the overheating problem (since both fan turned when the AC was on) that was until today now the fan don’t work even when the AC is on.
I checked the fuses and they are good. This is making me crazy. Any ideas. [/B]

Yes, I solved my problem...
In regards of the cooling fan the problem was a broken wire in the radiator cooling fan switch. This switch is in the back of the engine close to the oil filter... In that region there are 3 sensor..Oil presure sensor, oil temperature sensor/switch and coolant temperature switch. Do not mistake this sensor with the coolant temperature sensor..(the one below the distributor.......and to the right of the temperature gauge sending unit....
When the car is put in the on position (without starting the car) and you go and put a jumper wire in the coolant temperatre switch wire conector.... the fan should start..... in my case they did after I repared the broken wire......
In regards of the fan not turning when the ac was on was related to poor ground......I added more ground cables and the fan started....
I spent 5 hours figuring this out.. but now the car is running cool......
Hope you solve you problem....

thanks for the info. Bothe fans work with the a/c on but the radiator cooling fan dosent kick in .... on it's own. Your solution sounds promising... thanks Again
