I have a 1983 delta and I am trying to get some better headlights, right now I have those garbage yellow sealed beams that show barely any light, it doesnt even seem like I have my lights on. What I was wondering is if they have some xenon type sealed beams or if the halogen will make them brighter or what?? I seen some newer lights that show the whole town basically when they shine lol, they were on a mercedes I think. Let me know if anyone has any ideas, thanks ;)

stock car lgihts are halogen.

I have xenon on my Olds 98, there SO much better, much brighter and less glare. i have Wagner TruViews, there not all that expensive. and they perform well.

The lights you saw on the mercedes are called HID. there a different type of fixture and bulb, high output something like 100W i THINK. im nottotally sure but i know there bright as hell. i dont know if you could get those on you 88. i would look around online and at parts stores. im sure it would be a pain in the ass to convert though.

silverstars are pretty much the brightest you can do for under $100.

HID conversion will run you more than what the car is worth.
