do you believe in fate???? Like the good and bad things in life happen for a reason? I think I do but...on bad days it's hard to think like that.

Logically my mind tells me no. Everything happens because of past actions but I dont believe that anything is pre determined.
Spiritually, yes. Some people seem to be attracted towards certian things, like it is ment to be. Some things are just too perfect for them to be the result of things just happening to come together just right.

I do, even though people go "I dont, its bullshit to think im not in control of my life" Well I think about it this way, yes you are in control of your life, but it still has already been written for you, because it was you who did those actions, so you wrote it yourself, and its your fate, to have whatever happend to you.

I guess I believe in a larger fate and not so much in a smaller fate. What I mean is that the human race in general will continue on a path that is predetermined for it but us as individuals can change the outcome of our lives by the decisions we make.

wow. you convinced me Oz.

SIKE. or should I say, NOT!..

I believe that everything that happens presents a new opportunity for you, and that you have to choose which way to go. Its like a choose your own adventure book, with all the endings already there, but you still have to keep reading to find them. You can't just sit back and say, "Fate will take me where it wants me, so I dont have to do anything." That doesnt work, because its like if you just put down the book. You'll never get there. Of all the bad things in my life, I can look back and see very clearly what I have learned and gained from it all. I have to say that those bad things are the greatest things that ever happened to me, if I look at the big picture. I'm not sure I believe in a higher power, but fate seems to be hangin out with me.

No. Life is what you make of it. Actions have reactions. End of story.

^Thanks Jay

Yeah, I mean, sure...well, no.

What I believe is that you just stumble upon choices whether given to you or not. And then, by the choices you make is what happens. But there are infinite amount of choices each changing your life ever so slightly. Also, everyone has the same choices or at least can end up in the same place, but just by sitting in watching the TV till a commercial or going ahead and getting up could change everything.

It's just like dominoes. You start with one line, which then splits into 2 or 3 and then contiues to split. Those were your choices and see how different their paths are. That's what I see.

I have a lot of spare time to think...

I have a lot of spare time to think...
And that was all you could come up with? :p

Of course the decisions we make alter the path we go down. But you are not necessarily bound to any path that you find yourself on and the distance you travel from your starting point, so to speak, is down to attitude, and of course luck.

Blaming things on 'fate' is just something i can't stand. Failing my exam in 41 days won't be because of fate, it'll be because i didn't study enough...

41 days!!! SCREW YOU!!! Yes, I have spare time that I'm filling withinterent! AT leats I'm being, semi productive instead of just sitting around and thinking. Then I would feel like I'd have to study. :D And mine's Friday!

41 days is nothing. It's a 6 hour exam, can only be sat once a year, and has a ~30% pass rate. All sitters are investment professionals who've sat the previous exam, which incidentally also has a ~30% pass rate. Still want to swap?

3 years of pain to get three little letters after my name on my business card. Now if i go on to make lots of money, is it because of fate, or because i worked my ass off?

I agree with that too. Life IS what you make of it. But I still believe in fate as well.
