UNDER THE HOOD ITS TELLING ME TO JUMP THE DIAGNOSTIC CONNECTOR AND TURN OFF HEATER REAR DEFOGGER AND SET AT 5 BTDC BUT I DON'T HAVE AN ELECTRONIC CONTROL DISTRIBUTOR?THE MANUAL IS SAYING TO KILL THE COOLING FAN AND PLUG THE THE MANIFOLD FUEL FILTER ,MY DISTIBUTOR HAS TWO VACUUM LINES DO I PLUG BOTH ? THEN REFER TO THE VECI LABEL IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHICH I DON'T THINK GOES WITH THIS ENGINE.BOTH DIST ARE VACUUM BUT SHOULD I USE MINE OR THE ONE THAT CAME WITH THE USED ENGINE? I can help with this one. My 91 is the same way.

There were two types of ignition systems (at least for my year) With one type you had to use the jumper fuse etc....

But witht the second type you just need to time it the old fasion way!!
Just hook up the timing light to #1, and turn the distrib.

I bet your car doesn't have and EGR valve either!! Mine doesn't and that thru me for a loop too. They had Two different emission systems too!!

I put one of thos JDM engines in my 91 last fall. I ended up buying the factory service manual, and it helped alot. Most are setting the timing closer to 9 degrees. That's were I put mine and its doing fine.
