I'm new to the forum so that's why I'm posting this. I drive a twinturbo 300zx and when I drive my X it gets frustrating not being able to get up and go. I know we're talking apples and oranges but I need something to give this thing a little more power.

First it's Xterra... It says so all over your truck.

Second a supercharger isn't a "bolt on" mod. It interacts with a lot of other pieces of the motor.
Ya won't more HP out of your X, trade it in.

No one yet has found a way to "bolt" on a SC to a '01 or '00 X. Lots of people ask this and the answer is always "no". Technically you probably could, but like Kennedy said, its isn't just a "bolt on" type of application.

Your best and cheapest method for adding a SC is to trade up...

I've gotta call bullshit on this. How could anyone who just spent $25k on a new vehicle not know how to spell the name?

Point.

In reference to the "bolt-on" supercharger, according to Nissan... the V6 engine in the SC models is different than the V6 in the SE. They had to tweak some things to get the supercharger to work right or something like that. *shrug*

Actually, best I can tell there were no internal engine mods, just larger fuel injectors, a stronger fuel pump, and obviously different ECM programming. I bet it even has the same camshaft grind, since it has to operate as if the SC wasn't there unless you've nearly got the pedal to the metal.

Brent,
Just curious, do you have any documentation or statements form the Xterra CD manual stating the injectors or fuel pump is larger? I know how lots of info comes from others, but has any of this been confirmed by a nissan tech or someone who has physically compared the two?

I know there are a few Nissan techs on the boards, all they have to do is look up the part numbers for the parts in the different engines to see if they are the same. PS There IS a supercharger that fits the 3.3L motor from a company in Australia, there is a company in NY state that installed one on a Pathfinder....about a year ago I talked to them about an Xterra install but there were too busy and were not interested, I offered to do the install myself at their shop(or mine) and provide links to them so they can sell the supercharger after we ran dyno tests..again they were not interested..... I have not pursued it much since then.

Damn...oh well. So now to put in the supercharge, you have to:
1) Get a supercharger
2)Get a new hood or body lift
3)get a new ecu
4)get a special soliniod that operates under WOT
5)get larger injectors
6)get larger fuel pump and line

Anything else?
