tranny problem

got a problem with my tranny i got a 94 civic ex, i blew my old d16z6 so i swaped it with a d15b vtec it works fine now but my tranny is all messed up first my third gear would grind to got in even though i was pushing in the clutch then it went out and then my 4th gear went out now 2nd gears going out so i only go 1st some of 2nd and 5th. any1 got any idea what might be wrong with my tranny .thanks

look i have the same engine ( d15b vtec ) i use the s20 tranny

do you know if i can install the s 40 or no and if it will be more acceleration ?

I am also experiencing a problem like yours. My third gear is grinding and sometimes fourth and fifth depending on how I am driving. I was told that the synchros need to be replaced. I just ordered a synchro kit through a site I found (http://www.gear-speed.com) on the web. I don't which will be cheaper for you, buying a new tranny or buying parts and having it rebuilt. Do the math first and make sure the mechanic is a transmission specialist and not just a regular "joe mech" . A specialist would Know more of the "ins" and "outs" of a tranny and allow you to make a more informed decision.
