Going Crazy over GSX/TSI

I'm literally going nuts about getting this car. I have never wanted anything so badly in life, I dont think it's normal is it? I drive a dodge stratus, and its sooo slow. I honestly think about owning a dsm at least two to six hours a day, constantly reading tech tips and the forums here and at dsmtuners. I'm still quite far away from my goal, I am buying either a gsx or a tsi awd completly stock and under the 70k miles mark. I still need about 2 grand and that wont come in another 2 months! I dont know what to do, have any of you ever wanted your dsm this badly???

I did the same thing. DO NOT settle for something other than what you want. My friends kept telling me I'd never find a nice gsx, but guess who showed them wrong hehe. Just keep searching and you will find the perfect car for you.

It took me 2-3 months looking for a GSX/TSI AWD with decent mileage before I finally find my 1998 TSI AWD; was well worth the wait. If you already have one in sight, I would just take a chunk of the money you currently have, drop a nice downpayment, finance the rest, and use the remaining cash to start your mods, if you plan to do so.

Well i kinda didnt want a dsm or knew a dsm ever existed. But my gst came along when i was in a rush to buy a car at the begining of my senoir year (oct04). Loved it ever since. Although a GSX/TSI awd will be better, i love burning rubber! lol

Yeah, Im definitly not settling for anything less than what I know I want. I'm going to get a GSX or a TSI awd, doesnt matter because I like them equally, and with under 70k miles, and a perfect body and interior. Money is an issue with me, I make 8.50$ an hour at best buy and work only 18 hours a week. Financing isn't going to be an option, parents would have to cosign and they wont unless I get a couple more grand. Then after I gather a few hundred, here comes the mods :). I'm happy now to because I got an open garage with work lamps and tons of tools all for myself.

hey buddy, I've wanted this car since the 1g's came out. I was 11 years old when the 2g's arrived. I started saving for my car (i didnt care which model) again at 18. Man, like my dad told me, (I was tripping like you also) All you have to do is be patient. It will come. So look now i have my second RS. I still dont care about which model so i'm not going to whine to you guys about wanting a gs-t/gsx. I wouldn't advise people to do this, but my dad also told me about getting a RS/GS and keeping it for a while. Then after about a year, trade it in for a gsx or gst. You may own money, but who cares? You'll have a GSX or GST! Sometimes is easier that way. Or you could still save for a turbo model. Me? Now that i have the models i want, i going for a 1g gsx. Oh and hey, don't be afraid to go to in-house financing places/whole-sellers. Alot of times you can tell them what car and model you want and they will find it for you. I'm for real. How fast they find you one depends on your funds and how much they are willing to spend to get one for you. You set the price. Oh and i used to drive a 1998 dodge stratus. So i know where you are coming from.

Well I'm sellin the shell of my GS. The motor is blown and I'm taking my Xplode radio and speakers out of the car. HOPEFULLY I can find a GSX or TSi to replace it. I've got a 96 supposedly lined up for me for just 3000,all it needs is a new clutch. BUt that may not happen. Keep your hopes up though, they're a pain in the ass to find thats in good shape.

Yeah I've found that out in the hours of searching and comparing cars. I just sold my old kicker subs, mtx amp, and my computer for 1800$, so its really just a matter now of finding "My" car.

If you happen to live near NYC and have 5,000 to spare, there is a guy in Brooklyn with a GSX. Didn't look much into it, it was automatic, that's all I know. Think it's a 2g. Check autos.msn.com

For the love of god wait until you find exactly what you want....

Well unfortunately I don't have that option of waiting. I've got to drive my little sister places, and summer is fast approaching. I'm pretty sure that a 96 GSX will settle down my appetite for Eclipse until I can find a 99 that I can afford. Damn po' folkness.

It took me TwoYears to find my car! But I'm happy I waited. I wish I had more money to spend on it.

Yeah GSX/TSI were out of my price range when I started looking for a car, and I was impatient, so I ended up with a civic.
Trying to save up enough now to get a talon or eclipse and get rid of the civic, as much as I love it.
Just found out my friend's dad is selling a TSI AWD for 6-7k, with about 60k-70k miles.. I want it so bad but I gotta save up the money first..

Those Hondas are solid cars. I was playing with my girlfriends sunroof and it feels so much more, well, solid than mine.
