1997 keyless entry troubles

my 97 keyless entry will not open the drivers door, only makes a loud motor type noise, locking or unlocking.. or should i say attempting to lovk or unlock, But sometimes the drivers door will lock when the in motion sensor locks the doors... what could be causeing this ???

Sounds to me like the Servo Motor in the door has gone bad. I'd take it out and see if it has any broken parts inside. It's not too big a job once you have the interior door panel off, just a little tricky getting the linkage to the lock mechanism off, and back on. Just have a little patience for working in the confined area inside the door. Good Luck, -Jay
