I have a 98 GS automatic and am planning on a engine and tranny swap. However if I am going to do this I am going to do it right and build up the internals eg. Racing heads, port and polish engine and turbo, a Lsd and so on. I am looking to spend about 10k(For it to be done right instead of cutting corners), So hopefully I will be looking at somewhere between 400 and 500 Whp, but can my stock axle handle that or will I have to get a stonger one??????

You should get new axles man. They are not super expensive and if you are planning to get up to 400-500 then you can probably spend the extra to get the axles, it really isnt that much comparitively.

Deffinately new axles. Go to this site:
http://www.driveshaftshop.com/item135637.ctlg
E-mail them... they also offer an axle that's good for up to 750hp. The stock one will snap for sure after a couple runs
As for the LSD:
http://www.quaifeamerica.com/differentials/diffs.htm
http://www.quaifeamerica.com/differentials/diff_apps.htm
That is the best for our cars, in my oppinion.
As for getting 500hp... Good luck! Let me know what you use if you get that! You'll need a HUGE turbo and deffinately some cams (which I didn't see in your mods to the head)... Crower Stage II is what I'm looking at right now.
I started a thread a while back about what's needed to support 500+ hp in a 420A equipped Eclipse... Check that out.
Hope this helps. Feel free to mail me. L8er!

First, what engine do you plan on swapping in the GS, and why do you think that it's smarter than buying a GSX?
You do not need new axles.

I would love to have a GSX but two problems, one they are difficult to find in good shape, and two My car is Mint: 1 owner, never seen rain or snow and has 21K in milage, looks almost brand new beside the Mods  . And I have way too much money into this car to just abandon it for a GSX, Heres some Pics

Prob just a Stock GST motor and tranny, and complete rebuild
