Trunk release

opened my trunk a few days ago and was never able to close it again. My best theory would be that the cable release snapped but i've never see that before so it's only a guess. Any ideas anyone? If it is the cable, is it something i could do myself?

Could be the cable, or the trunk latch... Look and see if theres something jammed in it, and that its greased up pretty good, and alligned properly... As for the cable, not sure exactly where they run too, so I cant help u there...
