i stupidly broke the MAF on my car while installing a new intake. i cant find one at a junkyard and itll cost $500 through a dealer. i took most of it apart and see that the problem is a borken connection; the connectors broke off where they were sodered to the chip. i have an idea to fix it, and am wondering if this will work. i plan on running speaker wire(just to amke sure its thick enough) from the connectors on the chip to the connectors that broke off, and going crazy with electrical tape to make sure the wires never touch. i see no reason why this wont work, but just want a second opinion(maybe too much voltage will be goign through?) also, what happens if i just drive the car with out the MAF? and do you need to upgrade the MAF for a bigger intake? this sucks so much because i was about to buy a 1990 300zx for the summer, and use my 94 sentra GXE for the winter, but if i cant fix this or get a cheap replacement part, im gonna need to get an all year car. any help is much appreciated. thanx

the car will run extremely crappy without an MAF.

www.car-part.com has the part for $60 Search for '94 Nissan Sentra Air Flow Meter

it won't blow your engine, but the engine will barely even run without that sensor attached and probably wouldn't go over 10-20 mph. if you know how to solder and know what to connect to what, it will work fine, but if you suck at soldering or do it wrong, you would probably just be wasting your time.
