how much boost can the stock fuel system take on a 2005 srt4?

15psi, anything more with result in a check engine light. with a stage1 computer you can increase it a little, but only to like 18(spike, drop to 15) much more and again it will throw a code.
see the problem is that the car cant measure how much air you get above 15psi (2 bar map sensor limits its measurement to 15psi) which means that if you get over that much air the car starts to run lean. in order to fix this, you must either pick up a stage II/III, a GReady Emanage system, or a map clamp.

o..and the stock boost is around 14psi anyway right? so what would be the easiest and/or cheapest way to run around 20 psi? and that wouldnt be too much boost for the internals would it?

to properly (and safely) run that much boost you will need to get stage II. stage I and a wastegate will do it for you, but again, will cause you to run lean. stock internals can take WAY more power than 20psi out of your baby turbo!!!
but heres the thing. turbos have an efficency level, and when they are above that, they dont work very well. they produce a lot of heat (which is really bad, especially now that summers coming). if you really want to get a sifnificant increase in power, get stage III or an aftermarket turbo kit from AGP or some other company. thats where you will find decent power, without risking anything else.

ok..so let me get this straight..the stage I will still have the 2 bar map sensor which will only go up to 15 psi. thats y its called 2 bar cuz theres already 1 bar of normal air pressure + 1 bar of boost right? so if im right on that then the 3 bar sensor that comes with stage II and III will measure up to around 30 psi of boost right? not that im sayin i want to run that much cuz then ill need way more fuel. im just tryin to understand how these things work. i know quite a bit about cars but theres about a million things that i dont know. im just tryin to learn as much as i can. you've already help me a ton. thanks very much.

in order to run more than 15psi you will need the 3bar map sensor, which only works with stage II, III. stage I just doesnt pull timing and throw a check engine light. if you want that much boost, you will need more supporting mods than its worth. get stage II, and a full turbo-back exhuast system. more power than you need, and you can get even more if you want
