my cai just arrived via UPS this morning and I'm itching to put it in, but before I do that, I want to see/know how you guys mounted the PCM and where......dont you have to worry about water/moisture getting in contact with it? (isnt that the reason why GM put it in the airbox?)

Once you remove the stock air box you will see a flat spot that has alot of hole's.Most just Ty-rap/Zip-ty it to the bottom and the harness has weather pack heads so you dont have to worry about the moisture.GM put it in the air box since there isnt a hole lot of room under the hood.
If you dont like that idea and have a 98 up,you can also buy a PCM tray from GM, part # 15995679 it's off of a 2001 blazer cost is around 20 buck's or find one at a salvage yard.

lol ok well I removed the stock airbox, and I'm at the step where I need to mount the PCM, but holy shit this thing is huge! bigger then I expected. One side is kind of a cast iron colour, and hte back side is a shinny aluminium colour with a sticker on it. Does it matter what side goes up and which one goes down? it seems to fit better shinny side up, but it came out of the stock airbox shiney side down
and I'm gonna need to connect like 4 ties togehter to get them to go around this thing

I mounted the PCM with those copper wrap things, lol
the only thing missing in that picture is the cross beam. It has an interesting sound, kinda like a vacuum. Other people in my house said it sounds weird, but I dont care I like it :D

Ummm. Thats not a CAI. Thats a HOT air intake. With the filter just sitting on top of the engine it's not going to be drawing in cold air. It will draw in MORE air. But not cold. If anything it's just going to be hotter. Look into building a heat sheild box to insure the air is colder.
