Nice wash on those engines! What year are you recreating for the Rossi bike and what are you planning for the privateer team bike? Very interested to read more.

I notice there are a couple of subtle ditterences between the two motors, is that your doing?

The Rossi is the '03. The engine with the red covers is for the privateer. While both motors (bikes too) are technically out of the box, they are from slightly different kit parts and weathered different amounts. The privateer is being built of of the Repsol kit, (like the one in the above picture). They were parts I used in my demos at TamiyaCon last weekend... - Mark

If I am not wrong Rossi machine is newer RCV so 2003 probably Valencia kit or Repsol 2003 kit (with metal parts, now I see that clutch is metal) and the one with red valve covers is 2002 machine but the colour sheme for engine is not standard one so I am walking in the dark :D
One remark only, that water pump housing and pipeing is not that yellow in real life but more like pale grey/yellow.
Great painting work on both engines and those other bikes look very nice. Busa kicks ass :D

Yep, I had some time to put a few sub assemblies together on them.
The "privateer" did not come with any decals (except the tire transfers, and that's why it's going privateer...) so I made some tailored CF for the mufflers on it while I was making the other decals for it... - Mark

You are a fast builder Scale-Master. It has taken me 6 months to come this far on my latest RCVs... Will be interesting to see what you've come up with on the privateer. Your CF looks dandy and the wheathering of the exhausts, especially on the Repsol, are great.

Thanks Joel. If it weren't for the GSL I think I could finish the Privateer by the end of the weekend, the bodywork is finished on it, but the Rossi still needs some paint and decal work. Mechanically they about the same point in assembly.
These were both started sometime back (at least a month and a half) to use as demonstration models at the TamiyaCon a couple weeks ago. So a lot work and prep went into them before much of them could be assembled, it makes it appear that I am building them faster than I really did... - Mark

Had a chance to do some more work on these, sorry for the poor lighting, there is no sun in "sunny So. Cal" right now.
The Rossi bike is progressing slower since I had some problems with the fluorescent yellow, it's the first time I tried this paint and found out the clear has no adhesion to it. I still intend to use it and refinish the parts affected so I hopefully won't have to strip and repaint the tank. It's the same yellow as on the white bike and that did not seen to have the same reaction.
The gauge decal on the white one is custom made too as well as the engine decals for it... - Mark
