there is a squelling noise when i start up my car. it comes from the right side of the engine where the cams are. what can this problem be and is it serious. i think it may be the timeing belt. the sound goes away after about 10 seconds. is this an easy job to replace to and how much am i looking to spend?

Belt squeal could be the A/C belt, alternator belt or the timing belt.

The timing belt is an expensive job.
The other 2 are not too bad.

i no its not the a/c belt because that was squelling before but i took that belt off. i put my hear to it to try to excatly hear where it was and it is under the medal casing that is on the side with the cams. do i have to pull the motor to do it? the car idels low at about 1200 rpm then when it noise stops the rpm's go up around 1800. then when the car is warmed up it idels at 900 to 1000. i dont no if its running crappy cause it has done this noise sence i got the car but not as loud.
