ok i have a 89 hf and i was installing my new f1 style fenders and on the bottom of my new fender it stops right where the bottom door trim starts and the holes along the door don't line up. I think the wrong fenders were sent to me, does anyone have any idea as to which fenders it is that i have. i think they are for a CRX cause the corner lights fit but i think it's for another year or something. Any ideas???

Thats the bad thing about cheap aftermarket parts. My "Z3" fenders didn't fit either. They had to custom fit them and mold them into the front bumper.

i think i got fender for a earlier model crx cause they have differ trim pieces and it looks to me like the hole for the trim on this fender would fit the 87's or maybe earlier.

Ok i am not sure if this is the case but here is what i think is going on. Here is a pic of my body style crx http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Scott1982/89.jpg
The line is where my new fender stops and dosn't fill in below that.

Here is a pic of the body style or similar style crx i think the fenders are for http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y35/Scott1982/earlymodelcrx.bmp

Reason being there are holes on the fender that looks like that the trim piece on the 2nd pic would possibly mount to but like i said there is nothing to mount the 89 trim piece to since the fender stops.

That piece of the side skirt on the newer body style below the line you added is separate. I don't know if the fender actually continues underneath that piece though. My side skirt piece came disconnected at the top so I super-glued it back into place and it's been fine ever since...

the fender i need should wrap under neath the car a little, there is a bolt that goes on the bottom and there should be two square holes for me to snap in the trim piece. The reason that i am thinking that the fender is for a earlier model is becaause in the second pic above where the trim piece is, on my new fender the little square holes to snap the trim on are lined up pretty much for that tall piece of trim. But either way i go about it it won't look right. There is too big a gap to fill at the bottom nex to the door and in the arc itself where the plactic fender guards mount is about 2 inches off, so the only way i could make that fit is to cut and stretch the plastic somehow w/ some light heat or something, but it's just not working out how ever i go about it.

damn that sux.... I didn't know about the bottom bolt. I only mentioned cuz they're "F1 style" aftermarket fenders. I need new fenders too but I'm just going to wait for nice stock ones to fall in my lap...

i am prolly gonna do the same, i tired of all this bs. It's was a pain in the ass just gettin them to the house so i am going to louisville this weekend, so i'll swing by a junk yard and see what i can run across.

My bets are because they're aftermarket and they're made very shitty. Thats just a total guess though based on aftermarket fenders sucking donkey dink, and my doubts that there are aftermarket fenders available for pre 87 CRXs..

For the people who mould the front bumper to the fenders: How the fuck do you take your headlights out?!

i dunno, but this sucks like ya said, i am just going to send them back and get some stock ones cause i don't want to start molding parts on and stuff cause as a daily driver, it'll eventually crack and look like shit. So damn, if the fenders would fit they would look good but screw all that.

There are some fenders available on Ebay for our '87 and older... I've seen them myself. It might be that they are for those.. Sucks for you, man.

every fender, even aftermarket, that i've seen for an 87 or older CRX is made of plastic entirely. they're upwards of $120 apiece. i've NEVER seen anything cheaper, and they're usually disintegrated if you find them at a junkyard.

from what i remember about my car, the fender ends near where that black piece of trim begins, and apparantly you have to put that on separately. i'm not sure without looking again, and there's a large side skirt from a crap body kit on right now. i used industrial glue on it to keep it from falling off... so i can't really go look at this time.

if you truly have found a fender for an older-style crx that is not plastic PLEASE let me know where you found them. i'd love to put them on my dad's 87 to replace the few plastic shards that are left where fenders should be from my sister's run-in (literally) with an aluminum gate.

Hrmm...not sure havn't tried to tell you the truth. My front bumper and fenders come of as one piece so it wouldn't be too bad still.

i had some idiot with a homemade bumper come to my house to trade my z3's for his stock fenders, and I ended up finding out that the fucking bumper was mounted to the fenders. it was so fucking hard to get it off in one piece. and then after I had taken both our cars apart he decided he didnt want to trade, and told me to put his car back together.
