:lol2: Donuto!!

Hey Tony :)

Don't everybody get their hopes up about this - I haven't completed a model in YEARS and sure as hell am not good at them ;) Evenings, however, have been incredibly boring lately so I figured I should do one - if all goes well there will be more after :D

Going to go buy the body paint today, though it likely won't get sprayed on until tomorrow or Saturday...

Bitchin'!! :D Welcome back tothe model forum! :sunglasse:

The box art makes it look like the same driver figure that came with my FB RX-7 kit. How's the little scooter it comes with?

Remember to buy clear red and amber this time!! ;)

i dont think it will make enough power to burnout but soap and water on your counter is your friend! (do it with xmods all the time its so fun)

Thanks Jay :)

The scooter is SOOOO going to be lime green :D

Would clear red and amber be better? The instructions say to either use X-7 Red and X-6 Orange, or the supplied orange and red decal. It goes onto a "chromed" piece, of course.

I went and bought some primer, TS-39 Mica Red paint for the body, 4 grits of sandpaper, 6mm masking tape, and some more thinner today. Once the interior is finished, time to see if I can successfully prime and paint the body! (with the help of PMan's instructions of course ;))

As per burnouts - we'll see how well she works :D

Step 4:
Paint the wheels. They were supposed to be flat black in the holes and grooves, but I don't think that will fit the red paint all so well, and besides that would just be hell to try to do ;) I've just painted them flat aluminium. Still need to paint and install the centre hubcaps. Paint and install gearbox support. Paint and install rear subframe. Paint exhaust. This is part of the chassis piece, and in several parts, is far longer on the sides (eg around the propshaft) than an actual exhaust would be, so I didn't want to paint the entire bit. Thus, I painted it more like an actual exhaust would be, but that means that it's not the best and straightest. Oh well, I'm not entering any contests ;) Paint and install muffler. Install exhaust tip.http://files.automotiveforums.com/gallery/watermark.php?file=/502/367CIMG0901.jpg

:lol2:

I was also thinking about ways of shortening the gearing for max power!

The tires are quality Michelin 195/70HR-14 items

Body sanded, cleaned, dried, and primed. Allowing the primer to harden now.

Paint on.

5 coats of Mica Red (TS-39), dried (aka neglected) for a few weeks, sanded again (to rectify a few bubbles on the rear bumper and a big blotch of something which looked curiously like a piece of sock fuzz that got stuck on the bonnet), washed, dried a couple days, 2 more coats, then 3 coats of Pearl Clear (TS-65). Drying again.
