other options other then sandblasting?

ok well im rebuilding a lawnmower and am wanting to sandblast the deck and repaint it but my school's shop only has a cabnet style sandblaster and the deck wont fit in it fully. so is there other ways i can remove the paint but not harm anything else? (its going to be completely base so its just the deck (engine is being rebuilt) maybe a chemical stripper or something (i sort of want to keep it non toxic (fumes) and as clean as i can (only have 1.25 hours every other day to work on this so clean up is big) also what is some good long lasting paint for metal that comes in a verarity of colours (i know of tremclad and a few others but what do you thing would be good?) also i am going to be doing a custom paint job just because i can (and this will be used as a lawnmower and will be mowing my yard, its not just a show peice)

the engine will be custom painted too. accented and such.

a true Ameican wrong, im canadian! but close enough! the mower runs perfectly except for some blue smoke (burned a bit of oil, probly from being tipped on its side when pressure washing the under side, a good 3/4" thick of grass was plastered on the under side of the deck!) the crank case breather must have let some oil past when it was on its side and it drenched the filter and some got into the carb, so its blowing blue smoke right now, its goign to be completely stripped and sandblasted if i have time (ill strip it in 2 hours down to the block when i remove the engine) going to have to sandblast the engine to take off some extra layers of paint off of it and spray it with a new coat. its just the deck is too large for the sandblaster. (we have 3 mowers being worked on in our class, only a few people came to class today (damn 4:20!! :smokin: ) i got the thing stripped down and reay to get the blade off and the motor taken out (most of the time today was taken to take off the layer of grass) ill get to work on i in class this friday, and i should have it off the deck and ready to be dismantled by the endm of class atleast (i stripped and rebuilt a new briggs and stratton (model # 123400) down in a class to fix a problem when another person rebuilt it in one of the power mech classes)

Random orbit with some 40grit, wont take any time at all and will leave a nice tooth for the paint. I'v painted a few tractors and went to a local tractor supply place and ordered the paint, came in your run of the mill colors, nothing fancy, but it was some stout paint. So I would check with a place like that. Try to stay away from chemical striping whenever possable.
