depends on the car, depends on the engine... i've seen 2.0L v8 engines that would fit in some SMALL engine bays...

first of all, the 2.5L Avenger was a V6, not a 4 cylinder. Secondly, since Chrysler/Mitsubishi don't make any FWD V8's, you would have to convert the car to RWD, which would require cutting the floorboards and firewall and moving the gas tank to the trunk.

The cost would be $9,841.63. Cmon now, thats like people saying, what will my car run with these mods. SO broad of a question.

the headaches would be unbearable.

youll need new engine mounts fabricated as well as roll resistors, custom driveshafts, new suspension to support the added weight, convert to rwd, somehow to make your engine management work with the new engine. Obviously, your engines harnesses arent even going to be close to workin on this new engine. And this is all assuming it fits. Easily $15,000 in R&D, parts, and tuning.

Chevy Vega's came with 4 cylinders and thousands of them were switched to V-8's. Kits were (and probably still are) available to make it easier. But then they were already rear wheel drive to begin with so it's not all that expensive of a swap. Heck in '69 & '70 Nova's could be ordered from the factory with a 4, 6, or 8. Even a big block was available! Isn't it great how new cars get one, MAYBE two engine choices? V-8 the Avenger and you'll have the only one!

Sebring's and Avenger's are not Dodge. Infact most of Dodge vehicles produced in the US during the mid 90's (95-97) are produced out of mitsubishi factory plants, due to a bad market economy. The only part that's dodge on that car is the emblem logo.
And just so you know; It Is a very broad question to ask. Although anything is possible if you have the fund$, imagination, and ambition to take a lot of trash talk from everyone around you. That guy is right about moving the gas tank and cuting the firwall to allow for driveaxles and custom manufact...
I just dropped a 350 in a 86 Toyota truck, and it is a bitch.

lol maybe there are v-8 motorcycle engines (other than the boss hoss with the 502 gm crate)

also, if you do a 4 banger to v8 swap, use a carbureted car to begin with that has no engine computer and just stick a holley carb on the v-8. thats engine management for ya lol. hell, maybe you can chop out a hole in the hood of a honda accord and put a 350 with a blower in it lmao!!!
