what u know about 2003 Supra

who know sure about the new supra i have 3 picture of the new Supra and i don't know which one of them will be, they say it will be V8 is it Turbo or not , have 400 Hp , who now when it will come out or the price ,

hey whats up I'm new so goahead and take your stabs. anyway about the new supra, I don't think they are making a new supra. however my step dad works for toyota and they are making a new class of cars that are going to be directed at the younger generations. I think he said it was going to be called the xion class or something like that. I asked if they were goin to make a new supra and he doesn't know but he said they might make something much like it but not call it the supra.

i saw a picture of what they call the Toyota "SUPER GT" which was yellow and looked kinda like a ferrari excotica style car. Maybe you can post some of your pics and let us all decide what it'll be! :D

I read an article in a magazine (forgot wich one) and looks like they are going to bring the supra back as the big brother of the 350Z. It will have 4WD and a 4.0L V8 putting out 400 Hp. The prototype is rather ugly but a lot changes from original design to final.

Turbo? If it's NA then we won't see much of modding to that engine (you know engines that cross the 100hp/liter mark are actually hard to drive and not very reliable...)
If it's turbo then ---->:eek: ... think about it , it has 4 Liters discplacement not 3 like the old supra... 1000 wheel hp like nothing....

I hope that it has a turbo, but with a V8 engine, it makes having a turbo or TT setup more difficult and costly.

i heard it will be called the 4500GT and use a 4.5 liter v8 but i havent heard anything about turbo or not. BETTER BE! :licker:

I hope they bring it back. I think they should have never stopped making them. they just got to expensive.

it will be a badass car if its a turbo v8. in the story i heard, its supposed to be based off the v8 in the lexus lx430/470

ALL OUR FAVORITE IMPORTS ARE BEING REBORN WITH BIRTH DEFECTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, RX8 has 4 doors (kinda cool), 350z is a heart case because of it's weight and doesnt have a turbo (yet) now the supra is getting a lexus V8, what happened to the other-worldly smoothness or an in-line 6, i will tell you now, the 8 will not be near as smooth as the 6, but dont get me wrong, i'm not saying i dont want any of these cars, i would take any of them in a heart beat.

Actually I don't think it is the Lexus V-8. TRD developed a 4.3L V8 for aftermarket about a year ago, it has been tuned to a little over 1500HP. The stock car will not have a turbo from what I have read, however I wish they would reconsider. I also heard that NA engine itself pulls about 350hp stock.

Have to wait and see.

is that the picture of it R-1? I see a modena front spoiler, cougar headlights, and a 300zx'ish rear, whats with the fender flares?

As far as I know that is the latest concept of it. It will more then likely change alot before release, just like the R35.

as R1-rider says it is a concept and i likely to be changed, but at the moment the definite details are as follows:

Toyota 4000GT (maybe 4300GT, 4500GT, 5000GT) (continuing on from the old 2000GT)
running on a Lexus SC430 platform
400bhp
NOT A SUPRA

the Supra at the moment may have a V6, not much up in power on the old one, and the chassis be based on the old AE86

thanks for the info, i am not in the loop on the new supra and stuff, but i i was checking out some lex's and toyota trucks to see what the new engine was coming from, but nothing else was in the 4 litre range so i was getting a bit confused, maybe they are serious about bringing this back, thanks for the insight
