Which one would you rather have? I like the Diablo VT convertibles to tell you the truth :) The old 1989 Countach's used to be my favorites, but now I like the Diablos.

What about you guys?

Countach. I like the Diablo, but i'm not too fond of the rounded off lines. The Countach has a more angled, sharper look to it.

Diablo VT, hands down. Why? Performance and looks. Does anything else matter?

I like the Diablo VT 6.0 the most. It's one of my favorite 3 cars.

The Diablo, now with, what, I believe 600 hp from its 5.5 liter V12 and AWD?? Hard to compete with that. Although you have to be careful with it. In dropping the clutch from high rpms, in a Road and Track article they were able to fry its clutch in just two attempts!! Now that's impressive.

As for the Countach, I hate to say it, but even though it served as the be-all end-all of sports cars at some point in the early 1980's when I was growing up, today I look at them and find their appearance to be very.. dated, frankly. It is clearly a child of the 80's, and seems to have missed the "timeless classic" automotive design boat. And its performance is totally eclipsed by the sheer power of the Diablo.

In its own rite, the Countach is a classic. But there are cars that were made many years ago that still appear stylish and (dare I say) sexy today. For example the 1968 Camaro Z28. I honestly believe that this car looks (subjectively of course) every bit as good today as it did when it was first introduced 33 years ago. Much as I hate to rank on an exotic supercar while complimenting a relatively inexpensive domestic, I can't deny the fact that this is a prime comparison of two automobile designs, where one has withstood the test of time, and the other has not.

This picture of the Camaro does not do it justice. See the movie Better Off Dead to see just how good this car is capable of looking.

I love the 25th Anniv Countach but the new VT Diablos are incredibly fast. 0-60 in 3.4 seconds makes it one of the fastest production supercars ever made, to date.

Yeah, the 6.0 was for awhile the fastest current production car (thanks to Automobile magazine?). I'm not sure if it's still holding that title.

Well any Lambo kicks ass but my two favourites are the 99' Diblo VT Alpine Edition and The Diablo GTR. ( I think that there is a GTR )

the diablo 6.0 is still the quickest... there is no other production car faster...
the mclaren f1 is faster... but i dont believe it is in production now... i think
but the porsche gt2 is creepin up at 195 with that sick 462 hp... i would take the gt 2 over the lambo...
but the lambo would get tons of looks...
i would take the diablo

Does anyone know what the deal is with this crazy, wacky, pimped-out Diablo? I found the pic on the web, but there was no info on the car.

The odd looking yellow Diablo is in fact a custom tuned car built by Roland Affolter in the Swiss area.
He's the official importer for Automobili Lamborghini SpA in that region and also a top tuner for these exotic cars.

Take a look at my Lamborghini site for more information on this and other projects he did over the years.
http://www.lambocars.com
Go to the Diablo line-up pages and select the various Affolter Diablo's listed there.

Some people just like to be different from the rest, take a look at this one :

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. Good job on your web site - it's really well done. I'm at work right now so I can't really get into it:( but I will check it out in detail tonight.

It must be so nice to be wealthy enough to not only get a Diablo (or whatever), but then be able to modify it to make it even more unique!

The Diablo gets my vote hands down! The Countach was a magnificant supercar in it's day, but compared to the Diablo, it looks extremely dated. Gandini, with some help from Chrystler created nothing short of a rolling piece of art. Just my opinion.:D
