I have a four door cavalier. I am looking for two subs the hit hard and low. I have a decent size box. I can either but 10's or 12's in it. I don't have an amp. What would be your sugestions. In a moderate price range.

what's "moderate"?
what size is the box?
is the box sealed, ported, or bandpass?

guessing the box it about 16 inches deep. i think it is sealed. it has two chambers, and they are blocked off from each other. you screw the subs in and go.

Ok so it's sealed, you still haven't said what price is "moderate" in your opinion, and what size the box is. Depth is only 1 of the 3 of the dimentions...and we also need wood thickness.

it is 14 inches deep, 28 long and the wood is 3/4 inch think. moderate means something in a decent price range but not more than $500 for subs.

and the height?

does that $500 include the amp or is that just subs?

hahah this many posts and we still dont know the basics

but what do you mean but can put 10s or 12s in it... do you have holes cut already? if so what diameter?

and answer sr20s questions... volume of box is important for recommendations.

also, if 500 is just for subs how much do you have for your amp (theyre more expensive than most people think)..

if u want to spend $500 on subs, the price for an amp to power them will be up there as well, probably $350+

can you please rephrase your question so that we can help you?

thats fine on the amp price. and the box is set up for 10's to fit in there but there is enough room to cut for 12's thats what i meant by it could hold 10's or 12's

that box will be around 1cf per side once you put drivers in it which isn't bad.

so $500 for a pair of 12's that will work well in 1cf sealed on a $350 amp eh...what kind of music do you listen to? What is your primary goal, just to get loud or just to sound good, or a combination of both with one more important than the other?

Thanks

I have 2way rear deck speakers, should i replace them with 3 ways?

the RE SEs will be a lot louder than those infinities.. and they sound great too from what ive herad

as far as speaker replacements.. no, its not worth it to replace rear deck speakers. spend more time on frontstage speakers. get some strong component speakers to smooth out the low end with some strong midbass and smooth tweets.

what about brand name amps's.

Inexpensive amps to look at:
Profile Clarus, Hifonics, US Acoustics, DEI lower line, JBL, etc...
