Question:
We pulled the engine on a 1995 isuzu rodeo, 3.2 v6, and replaced it with a new (yet used), 3.2 v6.
There are 3 problems we came across.
1st: The engine we got was a manual and the one replaced was automatic, we changed he flywheel and bought a new toque converter, is there anything else we need to look out for?
2nd: (fits with the 1st question) Is the manual 3.2 engine smaller then an automatic? The new engine doesn't seem to flush against the transmission, there is a 1/4 inch gap between engine and transmission.
3rd: When placing newer engine back into truck we found 2 wires, black with a blue stripe and black with a yellow stripe, under the engine, near the stater. The 2 wires seem not to connect to anything visable and we had gotten rid of old engine not realizing to see what they were connected to.
Thank you for any responses and info.

In response to your 2nd question - the issue with the year of 1995 is Isuzu changed engine/body just a bit. There's the 1995 and then the 1995.5's.
Can't tell you exactly what all changed, but I can tell you that the front end of my late 91 V6 Rodeo (same design as the 1995) was slightly shorter/wider then the front end of my 1997 V6 Rodeo (same as the 1995.5).
The engine is the same from 1991-92 V6 3.1L, 93-95 V6 3.2L 175HP, 95.5-97 V6 3.2L 190HP, 98+ V6 3.2L 205HP

Well that info is good to know, be it a little late :) . Is there a way to flush the tranny or will there be some type of adverse effect in using this engine in the 1995.5 body?

Well we found out after getting the engine it's a manual 1995. And we pulled an automatic 1995.5

I believe the cubic inches of the 1995.5 engine are slightly bigger then the 1995 engine. Which I'm sure may be why it won't flush against the transmission.
To be honest, don't know if I've ever heard of someone having to do this; It's probably been done before just don't remember seeing it on this board.
I'll be forward with you, I don't know what to tell you, but I'd recommend contacting an "Import mechanic" just to see what they have to say.
Can I ask what happened to the 1995.5 engine?

You might want to try and post this problem on www.4x4wire.com in the Isuzu section.

Well we did it, we had to mess around with the mounts a bit and the engine sits a little closer to the firewall (but not in a bad way) but we were able to flush the tranny and get everything together.
The original engine had 178k miles when it threw a rod, couldn't be fixed. I'll post more when we actually get the truck running up to full steam. We need to do a few oil changes, engine flush, and radiator flush before we'll know if all is well...:)
