does anyone know the answer?

Okay I will try to explai the best I can. Its an 84 diesel blazer. On the fuel injector filter/Pump(?) the big squre one on the firewall on the passenger side with the air release scew on top. Has two line on the botttom (one front left and one back right When faceing it from the front) one in back has a hose going back to tank and the other is missing the hose (?) is there supposed to be a hose there and if so where in the hell does it go. I am assuming that there is supposed to be a hose because when I tried to re prime I developed a puddle under the truck with fuel.
Please someone say they have the answers.

Never had a diesel blazer (had a few diesel VW Rabbits and a Diesel 505 Peugeot (great car), but if I remember correctly that is just the drain for when bleeding the air out... It's a sealed system so there isn't a return fuel line like on self purging gas motors. More than likely a hose just goes on there to drain it away from the engine. Again, I'm not 100% sure on this as it's been a long time since I've had to bleed out a diesel motor (much less really work on one).

There is a hose on the side just below the bleeder screw, twards the top. Not saying your wrong in any way. But just seems wierd to purge air from underneath. But knowing there is no return line helps. So where does the unused fuel go?

When I punch the gas going up hills I spray fuel. Any ideas why?
