I own a 2000 Honda Passport that I aquired used a little over a year ago. The used car dealer I purchased it from removed an aftermarket alarm that was installed because they offer a 6 month warranty and it wasnt functioning correctly. Are these passports equiped with the wires/harnesses needed for a factory oem alarm/keyless entry system? is everything actually there that all I need is the remotes? What would I need and where could I obtain these items if possible to get the functions of an oem system. Has anyone else encountered the same situation? Please. any info would be helpful. You people have been a tremendous help in the past. Thanks in advance for your responses.

I am no expert, but if there was an aftermarket system in there, then the parts(wiring, ect...) for the OEM alarm may be gone or ruined.
You can get a nice after-market system for a little over $100 installed. Honestly an after-market alarm is going to be nicer than a factory one and probably more effective.
I like my factory alarm, but it is not real loud when it does go off. Higher end after-market systems are harder for a thief to by-pass.
Just my thoughts,
Marc

i dont know much about alarms, however I did look under the dash, and did not notice any wires all out of place, cut, stripped, or taped up, or ruined. thanks for the reply. Any other suggestions, anyone?

Even if the wiring is there, much is still needed for the alarm to work. You would still need the alarm system. It would be cheaper to go after-market.
