Armor All vs...?

Didn't want to threadjack the other thread, so let's start a new one.
So, if ArmorAll sucks on plastic, what's better than it?
Doing a quick search, I'm reading that something called BlackMagic may be better:
* Silicon-based as opposed to water-based like AA.
- Won't dry out like AA
- Doesn't take as much as AA to cover the same amount of space
* STP Son of A Gun Protectant
- Sucks just as much as AA and does as much damage
* Black Chrome
- Like Black Magic but for black stuff
I'm looking in google groups (I'm at work and can't really search the web as much as I'd like)

I use the BlackMagic and like it alot. Like you mentioned, I've heard that if you dont use the ArmorAll on a regular basis, it will end up doing more harm than good.

I've used Armor All for years. I just use an old sock and apply liberally, always comes up nice and shiny. I use it on anything black, dash, tires, trim... etc.

I like Meguirs products. They've got about everything you need and I've found they all work well. The car wash alone makes my truck look as good as if I washed it with Armor All and then waxed it. Try out their Clay Bar to make paint smooooth. I even used the clay bar to get paint off my door from when someone dinged it.

I just bought/used some Black Magic. That stuff works well, and I really like the way it smells

Mothers makes something called "Back to Black". I picked up a bottle at Advanced Auto Parts last week, and it did a good job. There is also a product called "Armor-Dillo", that the local GM dealer uses to restore the cladding on older Avalanches. I haven't been able to find it in a regular parts store though.

I have some back to black, but I thought it was mainly for exterior trim. It works well, but to get the trim clean first, I use good ol' windex.

An old girlfriend of mine had a Cherokee with black plastic fender flares and they were grey, almost white within a year because the AA helped them fade. I've heard about this in other examples too. I no longer use it on anything except my tires. I have used the "back to black" on exterior trim though and liked the results. I have a black truck, so if the black trim were to fade, I think it would look terrible(especially the fender flares). Can anyone explain this phenomenon
I just don't like the "greased" look on the interior so I use a wet rag.
My 2 cents.

A heat gun set on low and used carefully works wonders at restoring plastic trim. Try it, just be very careful not to get too hot. Brings the black color right back to stock.

I bought and used Black Magic about a week ago and I really can't say enough good things about it. It smells good, it made everything look nice, and it seems to have "bonded" with the plastics, so they're still shiny, and no oily residue like armor all

I'm interested in "new and improved" stuff that will protect my interior. But, that said, I used Armor All on the interior and fender flares and bumper corners of a 1987 XJ Cherokee that I had from new for 14 years. I proabably averaged a complete wipe down 2 or 3 times a year. The outside still looked good and the inside looked like new when I sold it at 145,000 miles.
