Hey, I have a 1987 F250 EFI 4.9L that sat over a winter. I have managed to get it running twice. It would idle, but stalls when given any amount of throttle. It will no longer even idle. The fuel pressure at the fuel rail is 40psi, which according to the book is in mid range. I have adjusted the timing to top dead center, checked the plug wire positions on the cap, and it’s getting good spark. The truck sputters when I put some gas in the cylinders, so I’m thinking it’s the fuel pressure regulator that malfunctions, just wanted to check and see what someone else’s thoughts were, before I try and get the regulator off. Thanks Dan

Good evening, I have the same truck with the exact problem. Have you had any replies or ideas? Have you checked the fuel flilters because you can have fuel pressure but no volume.
Thanks GSE Mak

Fuel pressure is relative to manifold vacuum, more vecuum = less fuel pressure needed.

If the MAP sensor becomes disconnected from the manifold, or fails it can cause these symptoms.
