I had my 99 trans flushed today, it was not doing so well it had no power until it would reach 40mph and the tach would jump from 500 rpm-1800rpms and no power. I get home and look at the invoice and they flushed it but did not replace the filter and it still runs like sh*t. Any help?

You need to replace the filter.

It is probably plugged.

Well I was going to attempt to do it myself. Now that the fluid is new there should not be any issues with doing it myself, or do you think its best to just take it to the shop? Thanks

Well, if you change the filter, you will have to use new fluid.

If you have never done any major automotive work before, I would have a shop do it.

They handle the big mess and will do it properly and you will have a warranty.

TRansmissions are expensive and don't handle mistakes to well.

I would chauk this up to experience for the future.

1.) Never do a flush, only a fluid change. You don't want to junk to be flushed throughout your tranny.

2.) Always change the filter when you do a fluid change.
