so last week i was driving home from school and a f-150 rolls up next to me. I look over and it say triton v-8. this is outside the city so let me describe the truck. it was lowered with big ass wheels, i mean there was serious BLING factor, windows tinted out. So he revs his engine and i rev back. i figure WTF never raced a f-150. Light turns green off the line for about 1/2 a car length he takes me. As i chirp 2nd im next to his front wheel and as i chirp 3rd i just start to walk from him. as i pass him i wave and beep my horn. i see in my mirror he gives me the finger. All i can do is laugh. that was fun. guess he never raced a honda

What mods does your ls have? You two probably are just as slow stock. I should know because I have seen a single cab short bed f-150 absolutely burry a integra ls w/ exhaust.

intake, header, high flow cat, exhaust, pulleys, ported head, dual valve springs, titanium retainers, ported intake manifold, 74/69mm tb. tokico shocks, and springs. Energy suspension motor mount inserts. Block guard.
Mods to come Jr supercharger 7.5 psi, msd ignition, high flow fuel pump.
my car is far from stock.

I'm not completely calling bullshit. But your mod list seems kind of odd to me. What the hell are "dual" valve springs? And why do you even have upgraded valvetrain when you're still on your stock cams? How is your Throttle Body 74mm and 69mm at the same time?

Dual valve spring allows the engine to rev higher with a more aggressive cams. And the 74/69mm throttle body is tappered. meaning it starts at 74mm and ends at 69mm in the intake manifold. this allows the air to gain velocity. Jackson racing superchargers work best with stock cams. that is why i kept those. I planned on going NA but i changed my mind. DUAL Valve springs little spring inside of a bigger spring. you should have spanked him with no problem.
but if it had spinners it would have beaten you
Spinners = 50 HP

I beat a harly davidson truck once. this is no BS. he must have been a very bad driver because i only have a little 98 civic ex (d16Y8).
this brings me to my main point... people should buy trucks to actually use them for what they were intened of
ex...
pull and tow shit.

LOL No doubt. what really makes me mad is the dorks in s-10s that try and race. That really pisses me off. trucks make me mad in general

then people who buy economy cars shouldnt race; they should just use it to get from point A to point B. :p :)

btw, look for vids of a blue chevy silverado called Parish. that truck can beat most other cars; runs 10 seconds on the quarter on street tires and so far the only car it really lost to is a AWD turbo eclipse.

also, for those that didnt know, Honda uses dual valvesprings from the factory in some motors(ei: Type-Rs).

Well think of it this way.. those trucks probably hate you just as much for racing a family economy car.

Its a truck, and unless you're driving either a lightning or a SRT-10, then its slow. Its kinda like giving someone props for beating a power wheels car.

I live in Omaha Ne that's where Parish lives. I've seen his truck race and believe me everything that's been said about it is true. It is a bad ass truck and one thing is that it looks totally stock. The only way to tell it's got anything done to it is the fact when you hear the blowoff valves and you realize you are dealing with one bad ass mofo. I saw a video of him outright murder a 03 Cobra it made the thing look like it was a metro. From what I hear the truck is running somewhere between 550-600 to the wheels. The thing is he's an electrician so I think he's done most of the work himself. HooHa for fast trucks.

1000tq are you kidding me? If you are just trying to pull my leg that's not cool. If you are being honest then OMFG that's a lot of hp and tq to the wheels. He obviously upgraded the axles and drive train right? That is an ugly amount of power. I'd like to see people on this board who put trucks down for being slow get in a race with Parish. What kind of power are you putting out with your CRX?

It really does make over 1000rwtq. I don't remember the name to his site, but it had the dyno on there. The only car he has lost to was some really hopped up DSM, and that was before the silverado's most recent upgrades.:)
His truck on street tires was in the 10's with the old setup. I could promis high 9's with slicks and current one. It looks stock, too.O_O

Look what you drive, buddy. A four banger cavalier. You better watch you mouth at the stoplights, because you will pull up to the wrong pickup towing a boat one day that will send you home with you tail between your legs.

And that's if you car doesn't break down on the way there.

Parish's truck is running an upgraded transmission (4L80E, from the heavy duty 2500/3500 models), and stock axles. The setup that is making 750 RWHP is only an intermediate setup, his new setup is going to be something like a large frame GT47-88 or a pair of T66's, believe it or not but the T76 he has on there is way too small for his setup and is causing a big loss in horsepower.

Okay, you're making totally unsubstantiated claims and trying to bash a car without any warrant whatsoever. I don't generally street race, I mean, what's the point? Its a street, its dangerous, and it doesn't prove anything about who's faster. Besides, I'm not the type to bad-mouth someone else's car at a stoplight, but it does, however, seem to be a common practice of yours. Way to be a big-kid.

You're also quite correct that I drive a little 4-banger cavalier. Its a car, its made for transporting people. The other vehicle in question is a truck, its made for pulling shit around. All its power is at the bottom-end and I can say that at least my buddy's 4.3 Vortec S-10 has shit for top-end. Why would I race that? It serves no purpose, the two are two completely incomparable vehicles.

I'm also not seeing why you'd think my car would break down. Its not like a cavalier is an unreliable car. Its a cheap domestic, and as such, a lot of people buy them and beat the shit out of them. A lot of them break down for that very reason. Then again, my last Cavalier, my 1992 Z24, is still running around today with around 167,000 on the clock. My current Z has 97,000 on the clock. If you're going to take cracks at a cars reliability, please make sure you can back it up, or perhaps you'd consider actually comparing the numbers on engines like the LD9.

One more thing, yes, my current cavalier is a 4-banger putting out more horses than my last cavalier which was a V-6. I do, however, miss that 180 lb-ft of torque that came stock, I now have to settle for 155 lb-ft.

Wasn't it Melvin or ME on the OR board who beat Parish from a role. I was thinking of that race when I put the last response down but didn't know for sure and didn't want to piss someone off. Can't believe how many Hopped up DSM's role around here in Omaha. Makes me wish I had the money to turbo my VR hell the way it sounds people already think it's F/I of some sort.
