Interesting safety feature.

A week or so back when i was doing the spring cleaning on my truck i found out something that i thought was pretty neat. The keys were in the ignition, drivers door was open. I was wiping down the door with armour all when i bumped the button and the doors locked and almost instantly unlocked. I was unsure if i had locked and unlocked them that fast just the way i had bumped the button so for the hell of it i locked them again, and low and behold as soon as my finger was off "lock" they instantly unlocked. I don't know if this is a programmable feature or if it comes from factory like that but i thought it was neat.

ya, if the truck isn't running you can't lock the doors. it prevents you from locking the keys in the ignition. but if your like me, you can still lock the keys in the truck when they are on the center console or passenger seat.

Good to know. Just a tip, I'd recommend to stay away from Armor All. Your plastics will start to fade, a lot faster especially, by using it.

I've heard this too, but don't remember the name of the 3M product that was suggested as its replacement (another board, a different truck). I think it was Restore, but when I searched 3M's site for that, I get diddly.

As for the safety feature, I thought everyone knew about that already! I think it works the same if you try to lock the doors if the truck is running and one of the doors is open too.

I'm curious about the Armor all thing. I just bought some to put on, but have not even opened it yet. If there is something better, I would like to see if I can swap it out. Does anyone know what we should use.

I know it happens b/c it happened on my old truck as well as my parents cars they use to own. Personally, I don't use anything on my plastics. I simply get a damp cloth and wipe the dash/other plastics off. It makes it look clean as can be and no hassle.
