Advancing timing = what gas?

I run 87 Octane right now in my Formula and i want to advance the timing a couple degrees, now should i change the octane gas i use to get better performance out of it? I think i've heard that somewhere just want to know for sure.

Advanced timing is going to require premium to prevent detonation.
