radio/heater control switch

1989 Honda Civic Hatchback 1500 engine/4 speed standard.

I'd very much like to put the cd player where the heater control is and put the heater control down where the cd player would be. I have seen it somewhere on the net. Thinking it's simple.... I took my dash apart and see if it can be done easily. It don't look like a simple task. I wonder if anybody has done anything like this and have a write up.

its actually really easy. all you will need to do is remove your radio and the black mounting bracket, then pull out the heater control unit, slide it down to the lower position, and make some small brackets to screw it into the radios original place. once you do that, move your radio harness up above the heater control unit, and then put the black radio bracket there using some homemade brackets and you are all set. its gonna take a few times repositioning it to get them both level, and the top mount for the heater control wont have anyplace to hook up to, but it will eventually work.
