the guy is asking 7400. here are the specs:
92 vx hatch
119k on chassis
'96 B18C1 Integra GS-R motor and tranny with 58,000 miles
Progress coilovers
Clutchmaster Stage 3 Clutch
Integra Type R seats
GS-R front sway bar
'98 Integra front and rear brakes with about 10k miles,
AEM Big Rotor Brake Kit Front/rear
16" TR Motorsport wheels
205/40 ZR16 Kumho Ecsta Supra tires
AEM Short Ram air intake
bad things on it:
The body is in good condition and the paint is glossy, but there a few dents around the car, most noticeably on the driver's side door. a big dent and a few other dents. probably a 4-500 dollar fix to make really nice.
what do you guys think.

i think its pretty expensive, i'm sure you could build that car with less money.. hatchbacks are a dime a dozen.. try and talk him/her down a little.. but otherwise sounds good..just make sure those dents didnt happen due to a big accident..

how do you figure i can build it cheaper. the way i calculated it i would have to spend about 10k to build that car. the car + gsr is already about 6 grand if i were to find a car for about 2600. where i live, 92-95 civics are a rarity, for sale at least. i see quite a few around town, but very rarely see them for sale. i looked at a 93 dx the other day and they were asking 5k(dealer), and it was a horrible car. the last one ive seen was a cx hb for around 2800.

regardless what this guy spent on HIS car, mods dont add value to the car.. engine swaps alike.. so thats why i think it is expensive..once you try to sell a car that you tailored to your own taste the value goes way down..

but what may your taste may be someone elses tastes as well....if he feels its worth it to him...then is it not worth it? Whats expensive to you might not be expensive to other people and vice versa.....i'm not arguing...i'm just stating my own opinion.

It's worth it if you trust the handywork. Found out who did the install. A freind of mine bought a 93 coupe with the B18C1 swap the guy worked at a rim shop and did it himself and two days after my freind had it the motor mount broke on it. So buyer beware.
As far as building it yourself I'm sure there are plenty of junkyards with the 5gen civic needing a motor for under 1k. at least they are were I live.

where i live it is pretty rare to find a 5th gen civic. there arent too many junkyards around. ive encountered 2-3 locally in the past 6 months that i have been looking. i am in las cruces nm, if anyone knows of any good places to look nearby, or of an actual car, that would be helpful.
