Really bad gas!

Yesterday my friend had some really bad gas! I was riding with him in his 95 Mercedes C280 when all of a sudden the bad gas attacked! It was so bad it made tha car stall on the side of the road! He tried to restart the car, but nothing. It would turn over and act like it was about to start but it just didn't have enough fuel pressure. Fortunately he had his tools with him so we pulled off the cover to the fuel pump and filter and tapped on things hoping to dislodge something. The car started and we were on our way. We figured thet we had better take it to my house for further investigation, but we didn't make it. The car died again but this time we were able to coast it into a parking lot across from an autoparts store. Once again we checked out the fuel pump and could hear it come on, so we pulled out the fuel filter. OMG! I had never seen black gas before! Fortunately the autoparts store had the correct fuel filter (we were amazed), so we swapped it out but the car still wouldn't start. We scratched our heads for a while, then DUH(!), we walked to the closest gas station (1 block away) and got a can of fresh gas. After making all sorts of "bad gas" jokes we decided to put the fresh gas in the car, it started after a few tries (had to pressurize the system again) and it hasn't died since.
I know this isn't really related to 'ol Hondas, but it is useful information that I just thought I'd share.
