Is true duals two pipes going back of the headers instead of one? If so could i do it with the edelbrock tes (305 tpi) how much more expensive would it be to do it that way instead of the catback? i perfer the dual exhaust.

True Duals: Headers back,
Dual Tip: 2 pipes into 1 Muffler, two pipes coming out.

your car right now has both exhaust manifolds into a y-pipe, then a single pipe goes down the passenger side, over the rear axle, into a muffler, then dual exits. doing true duals on a third or fourth gen camaros is a pain, there is nowhere to run pipes on the drivers side, so u pretty much have to run them underneath the subframes, which creates major clearance problems... my friend has the exhaust ran under the subframes on his '86 iroc, and he scrapes his exhaust on bumps all the time...
i could take some pics of his exhaust if u want me too, so u can get an idea of what i'm talking about...

Drvngstorm, if you could that would be great. I was look under it a couple of days ago and alot of things gotta get replaced. My y-pipe is all messed up, it's got a hole right where it makes the y. I mean i heard they can be a pain and from they way it looks it could be real hard cuz there really isn't anyway to run them, i figured maybe they could custom it somehow, but that would cost big bucks. Also, could i get almost similar results if i decided to go catback, with a real good catback setup?

i'll get the pics asap, but really if u get a catback, the gains will be almost equal to running true duals... i personally don't think true duals are worth the trouble... the flow capability of two 2 1/2 in pipes isn't that much more than the flow of a single 3 in...
the best cat-back that u can get in my opinion is the GMMG chambered exhaust...

because its 700 however, it isn't the best buy. i personally love flowmaster. but its truly up to u, flowmaster doesn't flow the most air and won't offer the best performance, but i love the tone. go to like summit racing online and check out their cat-backs there are alot of options.
btw. if ur y-pipe isn't too bad, a muffler shop will weld it right up for u...

After cAI I wanted to get a catback but you mentioned stuff scraping which makes me uneasy.
I really would like dual exhaust but not if its going to scrape and crap, anyone have any better experiance with this?

cat-backs won't scrape... i'm saying if u run true duals under the subframes (which is pretty much the only way to do it...) you will have clearance problems cuz our cars are already low...

i agree, there should be no problems with running a cat-back system on your car.. put a Magnaflow system on my car and it fits in there pretty nicely.
