I was going to buy a cat converter today, but then I realized I dont know what Im looking for, because all the ones i see are for off-road use only. Im looking for something high flow that will work great, and still be able to pass emissions. I need a 2" 1/4 inlet and a 2" 1/2 outlet. I check summitracing and they dont have any. ANyone know where I can get 1? The outlet also has to have the 3-hole flange. Thanks

If you are to pass emissions you will most likely need to get a stock replacement...

David-b, check out this discussion: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=178759
It has links to some sites that sell high flow catalytic converters plus a link to an eBay one. Hope that helps.

He should pass with a Hi-flow cat. If your state does the tailpipe test, verify that the cat is smog legal (most are). If your state only does the visual/OBD-II test you will be fine. Mine passed.

It says it's smog legal.
Does your state do the tailpipe test or the OBD-II/visual test?

I know they hook something up to the back, so its probably the tailpipe test. Looks like a vacuum hose. lol. So, I need to weld flanges on to something like that right? I see that you can buy the flanges seperatly.

This is the exhuast I want to get: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7968218985&category=33630
Its got a 2 1/2 in pipe. My header got a 2 1/4in outlet. The downpipe has 2 flanges, and the catback has 3 flanges. There are no flanges on the converter tho. Whats up with that?

You can buy flanges for this one.
Also, do I need to buy a O2 sensor bung for the cat-back? Doesnt look like it has a space for it.
