Hi
Read several weeks ago that you changed out your headlights to the Denali style. Didn't you go with efx on e-bay ? These are Eagle Eye aftermarkets, huh ? I just ordered a set for $238. Hope they work out. I'm thinking these cheap ones may turn yellow quick. Maybe not. How do you like them ? Go over it one more time as I couldn't find the thread, what needs to be done so plugs match up.

Thanks

Hi YukonGMC, here it goes:

There is one modification you must make:
Both Denali Hi and Low beams are 9005. The old low beams are 9006. This is not a big deal, but you must make the groove on the light bulb connector wide enough to accept the two ridges from the bulb.
I used a drill and a kitchen knife. Be careful, the plastic is quite soft.
An alternative would be to cut off the 9006 connectors and get two 9005 connectors from a car parts store.

Here is the link where I got mine:

They also are off ebay on the net at http://www.truckefx.com/

Thanks Eggert.

You could also splice in 2 9005's to the harness and keep your 9006 plugs ( dangling ) too, right ? In case you might let the truck go at a later date and want to keep the Denali's.

Also, do you have the option to just replace the low beam lamp with a 9006 and use the headlight as you would the Yukon stock light ? 2 -9005, 2 - 9006.

Hi YukonGMC, my lamps are still fine after one year. They probably all use the same plastic for the lenses.
Carving the room for the second ridge in the connector is quick and easy. Now both 9005 and 9006 will fit.
I would not do any splicing when a simple carving will do just fine. It takes a minute to do.
The Denali style projector lamps are designed for the 9005 light pattern, the regular low beam lamps are designed for the light pattern of the 9006. We have to stick with the bulbs that the lamps were designed for.

Eggert,

Received the headlights today and installed them. They look great. Very good quality. Notching the plug slot bigger was no problem. I went with Silverstar lamps. Thanks for the info.

1)What are the two hoses on each light housing for ? Drainage ?

2)Did you have to adjust them ( low beam ) any with the long silver rod ?

3)Have you ever considered the wiring harness that allows all 4 lamps to operate on high ?

Thanks again,

Jim

Jim,
I am glad you like them.
The hoses are for drainage / ventilation.
You will need to adjust the aim, mine only adjust up and down, not side to side. Should be a torx screw from the top, if I remember this right.
There is no real benefit to running the low beams with the high beams, it also is illegal and puts more strain on the electrical system.
You could use the fog lights as fill-in to the low beams, you may want to adjust their aim when aiming the low beams.
There is no high beam adjustment, as they are in the same housing with the lows.
