hello everyone,

Just want to say that i think i finally found the forum that i was looking for! Also i been checking out the forums, and i just want to say that some of the work ive seem by the members is excellent.

Well anyways i been meaning to get into the hobby since 2 years ago, since then i been "collecting kits" and never buying the resources to be able to build them.

Well i promised myself that this summer i would at least build one!! lol...

Heres my current collection...

Tamiya Cars
Loctite Zexel GT-R R34
Avex Dome Mugen NSX
JACCS Accord
Toyota Corolla WRC
Peugeot 206 WRC 1999 "Tour de Corse"

Fujimi
Integra type R... 98 edition i think

Tamiya motorcycles
Red Bull Yamaha WCM YZR500 1999
Suzuki RGV Gamma 500
Antenna 3 Yamaha YZR500 "Norick"
Honda Pons NSR500 2001 "West Color"

And my first question is, what kind of air compressor should i get... Im thinking of buying this one of ebay:

AIR BRUSH COMPRESSOR 1/8 HP Puma (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1719571846&r=0&t=0&showTutorial=0&ed=1018539434&indexURL=0&rd=1)

After i buy an air compressor im going to buy an airbrush, any ideas?

Thanks for any info, also which kit should i begin with???

The air compressor looks like a good one, it has a built in water trap which is vital!!! For airbrush choice my recommendation is the aztec A470 set, I have one of these and it was my choice after looking at many different ones. Its a good price, has inter-changeable nozzles, easy to clean and easy to use.

As for the model to start with i would go for the fujimi integra as it would be a relatively simple kit for u to begin with.

Yeah, don't build any race cars first, please!

If you want my opinion airbrushes, I believe nothing will serve you better or last you longer than an IWATA airbrush, www.iwata-airbrush.com I myself have a Revolution airbrush, and it's great, I never have to change needles or nozzles or anything like that, I clean it thoroughly once a week and all for all the other times I just run thinner through it and wipe down the needle. The Eclipse series is very popular, as well

If you're getting an Iwata, I'd recommend an Iwata SprintJet compressor as well, they're made quiet enough for apartment use and they come with moisture trap/regulator, and are oilless. At www.dixieart.com they are available for $140, for $40 more you can get the SmartJet which shuts off automatically when you're not using it.

If you need an allaround compressor for airbgrushing and other general around the house things, Id recommend the Campbell-Hausfeld FP2003 QuietAir, go to Wal-Mart.com and do a search for CAmpbell-Hausfeld and you'll see it, for $100 it comes with a 2 gallon tank for quiet airbrushing.

Anyway, best prices for Iwata airbrushes are at www.dixieart.com and www.bearair.com

Hope this helps! :frog:
