well it's possible you have some bad wiring in there somewhere, or your ignitor is going out. Any codes? Check the light on the ECU under the carpet on the passenger side and count the blinks..you can put a "vtec" head on the block, it's called a mini-me swap, do a search in the forums for it, lots of info on it..there are no motor mounts attached to the head (lol!!)

to add to what livinincalifornia said...

if it is the ignitor or coil there is a way to check for spark. pull 1 spark plug out and ground it to something like the valve cover. have somebody crank the car while you watch for spark. no spark = something to do with the dizzy....which is either bad wiring or coil/ignitor.

if you don't do a search within this forum you can also stop by www.4thGenerationCivic.com in the engine section there are the most common swaps into a 4th gen (including sohc & dohc vtec)

thanks that really help, and i have pulled the spark plug thats how i know its getting no spark, i do recall there being a wire attched to a connector blade and the rubber boot that covers it had been cut off at the top, do u think that it could be grounding out the rotor bug so it wont arc to the cap, im not sure but i think its that, ne other suggestions let me know
