I recently had an oil leak after having my oil changed. I went back to have them fix the leak and they did. But, 24 hours after fixing the leak I lost oil pressure and my engine clicks when I turn it on. It drove fine for 24 hours and I have no idea why this is happening.
I put some fuel injector cleaner in the car but that has not helped. When I turn the car on the oil pressure gauge doesnt move. When I drove the car it had very low power and vibrated very hard. The check engine light has also came on. Any ideas? Suggestions?
Thanks
Brandon

Where was the leak & how much oil was lost? 1.8T engines have oil sludging issues.

The oil leak came from the oil filter not being screwed on properly. I kind of self diagnosed the problem as being the oil pump and I will tell you why.
1. No oil pressure
2. Oil filter was not warmed up at all after running the car
3. It appears the engine is not receiving oil
The car heated up incredibly fast, within 2 minutes it was way too hot to touch and I never took it above 3000 RPMs.
When the guys at the oil change shop tightened the oil filter they said anti-freeze was leaking pretty bad, does that imply anything?
Thanks for the feedback.

Yea if theres no coolant in the system the engine will heat up VERY fast. Possible the oil cooler (where oil filter is screwed on) is leaking. ALso aftermarket oil filters (fram, juffy lube) dont let the engine have the correct oil pressure. VW revised the oil filter for the 1.8t passat to double the size and help increase oil pressure. I have had cars come in with aftermarket filters and oil light and all I did was change the oil and put on a 068115561B passat oil filter and the oil light went out. Also could be the oil pressure switch right above the oil filter normally goes bad and is about $8.00 from the dealer. real easy to replace also takes about 10-15min.

If that is the only problem I would be really relieved. I have a feeling it is not though, here is why. I had the oil changed a month before this incident. I had a bad oil leak afterwards to I took it back and told them to fix it, they did and I was left with this mess.
The only thing they did the second time was unscrew the oil filter, clear off the threading and put it back together. They threw in a couple quarts of oil and sent me on the road. There is sufficient anti-freeze in the container but maybe it just isnt flowing correctly.
Did I maybe jump the gun on the oil pump idea? I have a feeling this is going to cost me dearly.
