Wacky Wipers

My Sierra has some problems with the wipers/fluid: sometimes the wiper fluid won't come out when I press the button back. At first when it didn't come out, I thought it was frozen, but it still does it, even though it's 50 some degrees out now, and I know I have a full tank of fluid. It will work about every other day when I need it. I think it may be the pump, and someone else told me it may be airlocked, but I want to get some other opinons first.
My other thing is that sometimes the wipers will stop in the "upright" position when I turn them off after use. They sometimes also stop in the middle of the windshield too, which presents a vision problem for me. Any fixes??
Thanks for your help!

Don't know about your first problem.
However, the second problem is simple.
The circuit board inside the wiper control box has got cold solder joints on the contact pins. You can see the under a microscope. With the naked eye the solder looks clean.
You will have to wick the old solder off, then reflow new solder.

that problem was a recall for gm trucks before 1996. check out kbb.com and read up on the recall notices. maybe urs will fall into the recall notice. then u can just take into the dealer and have them do what litmag said.
