Finally, some fun in the LeBaron and a death to the army.

Well, let me start off by saying that some of the negative effects of being a sleeper are gone now. Since putting on the new wheels and tires this is the first time I've really been out in the GTC. Let's just say I get noticed now. It is still a sleeper since people just think I put nice wheels and tires on a bucket of shit. :grinno:

Anyhow, I had recently replaced the battery, spark plugs, and ignition wires so I decided to head down to the gas station and fill it up and add some fuel system cleaner. I also wanted to test the alternator to make sure I didn't damage it by deep cycling the old battery. I was just going to head home, but then I thought that I should put some miles on the tires to break them in. So I decided to head down to Provo and pick up Neutrino. On my way there I ran into a lot of posers. First I saw one of those turbo Isuzu Sprints, I think, which would have made for an interesting race had he not been running like shit. The car sounded horrible and it wasn't just a hole in the exhaust. Along with him was a guy in a 1st gen Tiburon. Both of them were plastered with stickers. They were weaving in and out of traffic playing around with each other though my guess was the Isuzu would kill the Tib. Then a 1st gen Eclipse GS decides to join the fun. I just sit in the fast lane because there isn't really anywhere to go. There is just too much traffic. The Sprint and the Tib end up getting stuck next to me and keep looking over. The Tib ends up goosing the gas to see if I'll bite. I slow down to get some room, he does the same. I drop it a gear and give it about 3/4 throttle and just left him in the dust. He then pulls up next to me just as I shift and the DV lets off a nice sound and then his attitude changed. I guess he didn't notice the molding on the side that says TURBO GTC? However, I did notice that his huge tach wasn't even working.

Damn posers!

After that I exited State Street and head down University towards Neutrino’s place. There is a long downhill bend to get there and most people slow down going down this, but Neutrino and I like to take it as fast as we can. However, the tires aren't broken in and I don't want to slide off the road. I am still passing a ton of people going about 70MPH which isn't extremely fast but the car felt so much more planted than my old LeBaron and even more planted than my Sebring. I can't wait to give these a good test once they're broken in.

I end up getting to Neutrino's and he wasn't there so I just decided to head home, besides I am driving this damn car with no insurance. On the way home I run into a Merc on I-15 that seems to be in a hurry. I am going about 75MPH keeping with traffic. I change lanes whenever it seems to suite me best, but this guy is just being dangerous. I end next to him in the slow lane and I can see that his best option was to get in front of me so he speeds up to pass. No matter what he would have to cut me off and I am not letting him do that. I didn't even shift out of 5th and I floored it. Too my surprise I edged him out. Even in fifth the car was pulling hard with a vac leak, bad timing, and who knows what else I might find wrong as I go along.

It made me feel good about this project. I can't wait to drive it to my sister's house for dinner tonight.

As for the second part. Neutrino and I went to see Sahara last night; sadly I didn't drive the GTC since it isn't insured. On my way home in the Sebring I run across another renegade in a Corsica. Trick is though, this guy has camo paint, and you can tell he did it himself.

NICE!

Anyhow, I didn't think anything of him until he floored when the light turned green. So I take off after him I hate this car because its low end sucks ass. I am pulling on him but not very fast. I end up passing and beating him by about a car and half by the time I shut down at 70MPH. After that he pulled in behind me and would come close. Man I need a faster daily driver. I just keep telling myself, at least it can handle.

Maybe next week I'll have some kills to post in the GTC.

Sounds like a fun weekend, everyone was out last night in Champaign and i felt left out so i know how you feel about not being able to drive the GTC, you're lucky you didn't get caught driving it when you did though.

Bout time you got that thing working Poly. I was on State last night for a little bit. Wasn't too pretty. I ended up getting slaughtered myself by quite a few cars. Hope to see you next weekend. L8...
