This wasn't your typical 1,2,3, Go race, this was more of a highway cat and mouse race. I was cruisin home from work doin about 85-90 mph enjoyin the 70 degree weather when i passed by an 80's monte carlo SS big cowl hood, looked mean. There was an older guy driving it and he had 2 older passengers, he gave me a look but I didn't expect him to do anything b/c his passengers looked like they could drop at any moment. But sure enough as i watched him in the rearview i see him gun it, so i started to but then since i was in front i figured i'd let him catch up and then gun it. So by the time he was next to me he had a good 20 mph on me and kept on goin, and i gunned it and within in a few seconds i was pulling on him. Then there was traffic, and after we got around that, one of his passengers (like a 60 yr old lady) turned around and and was giggling. So he floors it again, I do too and pull ahead of him...by this time doing about 125 mph, and then he hits the brakes for no apparent reason. So just when I think we're done, here he comes again in my rearview, again with a good 20-25 mph on me, so I was like this is the last time, floor it, i just stayed on his tail until my exit which was a 1/2 mile away, gave the thumbs up and went home.

Thanks, yeah i've always liked those SS's too...I hate those races that leave you feeling like you're not sure if it was a race, who won. I like the 1-2-3-Go! whether from a stop or a roll. They just opened up Lancaster Speedway today here in NY, I was going to go run my SL, but I fell asleep, i'll do it later this week (after I put in my clutch) and post times.

wait, but isn't there a period of time that u have to wait to break in the clutch, aka no high Revving???

Yeah I thought about that, but i've had clutches that I beat on them as soon as they were put in and they're still going strong today 40k later. It would be the smart and safe thing to do yes, but maybe i'll just put a good 300 miles on it real quick or something. Haven't decided yet!
