Replacement Of Oil Cooler Lines?

I have a 97' 2.2L 2X4 with 106k on it and I have heard horror stories about the oil cooler lines bursting and the motor locking up. Anyone ever replaced them on there truck. Please give me a how 2 and does any autoparts store have them or do you have to get them from the dealer. Maybe im paranoid but i need 2 run this truck for a couple 100k more so ill do anything to prevent down time.
