D16Y5 Question

ok, i have a 88 crx si and my engines about to blow so i know a guy who's selling me a D16Y5 engine out of his 99 civic hx with tranny, and a p28 ecu for 400, just lookin for some advise on if i should buy it or not, and what kind of work i'll need to do to my crx.

i wouldn't bother...i'd look for another a6 or find anpther engine that is worth swapping

is there no way to over ride that vtec-e bullshit?

Its a whole different design than the power implementation of VTEC, so no... U can turn off VTEC, as in not wire it at all, but you wont get any benefit from it... Just wont get the ecomony of the VTEC-E anymore, no extra power...
