body kit question

what's up guys. i was driving to work today and on the freeway i saw a trans am that had some sort of a wide body kit on it, and it looked really sweet... i know the car i saw was a firebird but i have a camaro so im postin here to ask if you guys know of any places that produce these kits or would i have to get it custom made? mine is a 2000 by the way. i searched with google and all that for like an hour and couldn't find anything that was an actual wide body kit so im hopein somebodies got some insight on this one that can help, thanks in advance.

I have a 2001 and I am not typically staring at the back of my car while driving... but is it me or are those trans ams a little wider? Maybe its the spoiler or dual exhaust playing a trick on my eyes are the simple fact the a Trans Am with an LS1 is boner enducing... I just dont know

naw, i know it's a kit cause he hadn't gotten it painted yet so it was that grayish color... and it definitly was wider, like prolly at least 2 inches, cause he had so really wide tires in the back and they still fit in the fender.

No, but when someone says "body kit" you tend to think of the ricey style stuff like the wide mouth front bumper and grille, rear bumpers with tailpipe holes, side-skirts that damn near touch the ground, carbon fiber hoods, and the ever popular wing.

Ricers are when people make a car look fast, but is really slow. Your saying once you put a bodykit on a camaro, it looses half of its horsepower, and sounds like a piece of shit blender?

hell my side skirts about touch the ground, and my car has a kit on it......but the dealership did it, and i did drop her about 2 inches. i dont feel kits are ricey, but i have seen camaros with that fast and the furiouse wing smh. i have guys tell me my ground effects light are riced out but others think they look nice because they arent tacky pluse u cant see the bulbs. i guess we need a webster understanding for the word rice. and the trans am is a little wider in the rear than the camaro, i think they may weigh a bit more also. that could be the answer to why they are a tad slower than the camaro.

Hell, some of the things I have done to my car I consider rice. Rice isn't always bad. But I do have a hardline stance on it.
Rice is basicly anything form over function. My custom embroidered headrests are rice. No performance from that. Along with my white faces gauges. Both rice.
And yes, while that Camaro posted doesn't look terrible, it is rice.

Don't go telling me what rice is and isn't. There is no exact description of what rice is. We all have our own opinions. I think body kits on ANY car are rice, and a huge waste of money. Don't like it, too bad.

Yeah thats the bodykit that I will be getting, its down the road a bit. I still have to get a few other things done before I put it on.
