Does a 2004 LS EXT Trailblazer have a hard wired connector for a brake controller. I can see some sort of connector under the dash.

The wires are just hanging on the left side walll under the dash on the drivers side... mine were wrapped all up in electrical tape and then zipped tied and rolled up to another wire. They did have a little white tag hanging on them with that listed the different colors and what they were though. I posted the colors before. If i can find my post then I will repost them for you.

And you should have a red 12 volt wire righ outside your fuse box under the hood with a ring terminal on it that yoiu have to hook up to the empty stud on the fuse panel.

I have had my controller installed for almost a year now, and I just hooked up the wires under the dash. Do I need to connect that red wire with the ring, and where exactly does it hook up to? Thanks, Erik

In my case, everything worked fine except the interior lights; I have an enclosed trailer. Once I connected the red pad-eye wire, the trailer’s interior lights started working properly.“The Black Pearl,” thanks for the post. I needed this information to complete my wiring install.

Thanks Black Pearl for the info. I connected the red wire under the hood, and connected it up to my boat trailer and everything was the same. I see that it is for the interior lights, which my boat trailer doesn't have. One more general question, on my Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller, the red light doesn't ever light up when I press on the brake. Anyone know why this is? I am wondering if my light is defective because the rest of the controller works perfectly. I don't have a travel trailer to test it on, just my boat trailer with electric brakes. The controller was installed for only one purpose, to keep the brakes from locking up while backing up, which it does. Thanks again, Erik

I just posted the question, I believe it was another member that came up with the Technical info.

Here is an email I got from Tekonsh (Prodigy) in regards to hooking-up a Prodigy brake controller. I have pictures, just pm me and I will send it to you, I can not figure out how to the post pictures. The tech support was great help.
Thank you for contacting Tekonsha. If the Trailblazer is equipped with a factory tow package there will be four wires under the dash to connect the Prodigy to. The Trailblazer will not accept one of the plug in harnesses.
Drop the panel under the left side of the dash. Locate the large loom of wires that pass thru the firewall taped to this large harness will be Four wires (Orange, Light Blue, Black and Large Dark Blue) that you will connect to the control as follows.
The Orange wire connects to the Black wire on the Prodigy.
The Black wire on the Trailblazer connects to the White wire on the Prodigy.
The Small Light Blue wire goes to the Red on the Prodigy.
And Large Dark Blue to the Blue on the Prodigy.
I have attached a couple of pictures to show you the panel that you need to remove and the location of the wires.
If I can be more help please contact me.
