Slipping Transmission?

I am just wondering what exactly happens when your transmission slips. I'm trying to differentiate between that and an ignition problem. If accelerating hard at low speeds sometimes the truck will start to "buck like a bronco." It does the same at high speeds but not as drastically. I can't tell if it's a missfire or what?

When i've had a tranny slip, it was a delay from when I hit the gas until the wheels actually started to turn. It would take just a second for the tranny to catch up and then the truck would take off with a "snap"

Hmm.. that's a good sign. I'm hoping I just need new plugs or somethin. Thanks

It almost sounds like a spark problem by the way you describe it , or it could also be a fueling problem. I would personally start with the fuel filter it is the easier of the two jobs, the other being the spark plugs AND wires. That last plug at the firewall on the passenger side is a bitch to get at, at least on the 4.8 it is.

go get your codes pulled by a transmission shop, if its the transmission, they usually are pretty good about storing codes when they have a prob...but doesnt always throw a light...good luck

Mines done it a few times, but it's been a while since the last time. Whenever mine does it, it usually happens when I get on it and it'll get stuck b/w like 2nd and 3rd and flip back and forth before it makes up its mind.

I'm starting to think (and am pretty sure) it isn't a transmission slip now. I'm leaning toward fuel problem. Maybe even the injectors acting up?
